Day Three-We left Okanagan, Washington and travel along highway 20 west back toward Seattle.  This drive took us on the Northern Cascade byway.  We noticed right away that the temperature kept dropping until it was down in the 60's by the afternoon.  This part of the drive was stunningly beautiful, with rock formations, mountain peaks, lots of pines and the gorgeous Lake Diablo.  We stopped to take a long look at the lake which was an teal blue, so striking and unusual.  In all, we drove about 300 miles back to Seattle.  We stayed with a childhood friend in her new Condo which was located right on Puget Sound with a perfect view of the water.  I have two childhood friends and the other one lives about ten minutes away, so Sally and Pat were both there to greet us when we arrived.  Pat is always active with her grandkids and so she brought kayaks over to Sally's condo and was determined to get me in the water!  We had the best time and I didn't mind getting soaked we were laughing so hard.  Craig stood at the shore taking pictures which he loved.  Sally made a wonderful meal for us and we all set out on her deck watching the water and visiting way past Sally's bedtime!  We were up early in the morning and ready to get going.  All along, the dogs have been perfect and have been friendly to everyone they meet!  We left Sally's about ten and headed toward Astoria, Oregon.
