We left our home in Iowa on July 23rd.  After training our two dogs for several weeks, they were able to stay in small crates under the seats in front of us on our plane.  We landed in Seattle with a two and a half hour layover and then boarded our plane to Seattle.  Both our dogs were perfect all the way and it was a miracle with this being their first flight.  We still had to board a bus and find our rental car location.  The bad news is that they overbooked the cars and didn't have one for us.  It was nearly eleven o'clock at night before they could find a car for us.  Still, the dogs were patient and calm.  The good new is that the car we got was a Pruis which is partly run from charge and partly run from gas.  We were able to travel 700 miles on less than 45 dollars gas.  We are saving big time on fuel and the back seat lays down, so the dogs have a cozy little nest!  By the time we found our place the first night we had been gone almost twelve hours, but our room was perfect!

Day 2-July 24 We took a tour of the Cascade Mountains.
