Brookings, Oregon, home away from home

We arrived at our destination on August 1 and will be hanging around for the next month.  Brookings is about the size of Washington, Iowa and the best part is that it has spectacular ocean scenery!  The weather here averages in the 60's to 70's and extemely comfortable for people that hate the heat.  Our days start out misty and cloudy and then clear about mid day.  The first two days were sunny by afternoon and in the 70's.  Then it turned cooler and cloudy, so we are waiting for the return of the sun! We have been spending time on the beach and this weekend, there was an art show which was something fun for us.  We drove to Crescent City, California yesterday and checked out the area.  We saw some seals in the harbor sleeping and squealing.  There were lots of people surfing in wet suits and the areas were surrounded by RV camps with a nice view of the water. We drove through part of the smaller redwood forests, but will return to see the more spectacular ones this week.
